October 311 Community
Challenges
Dear Community Leader and
Stakeholder,
Thank you for your
participation in the Mayor’s 311 Community Challenge!!!
I hope you are ready for this month’s challenges.
Please see below.
The new challenges for the
month of October
(October 1st –October 15th) are listed
below:
(1)
Graffiti
Please make an extra effort to
improve your communities by focusing on-
·
Light poles
·
Schools
·
Bridges (concrete legs)
·
Gateways
·
Playgrounds
·
Parks
·
Vacant properties and
buildings
·
And any other structures
with graffiti on them
(2)
Abandoned Vehicles
Please,
ONLY call 311 for abandoned vehicles that are located only
on PUBLIC STREETS for the challenge. Due
to operations, we will
not accept
abandoned vehicles on private lots, city owned lots and
private yards for this initiative (311 Community Challenge).
Outside this initiative 311 will definitely take them.
(3) Debris
on Wire and Poles
(4) Bags in
Trees
This only applies to
city street trees in the
medians and in front or side of a property. We
will NOT allow
request for private property which is the property owners
responsibility.
Please adhere to the
guidelines below:
Ø
You can only call into
311 for this specific initiative.
Web intake (311 Online)
submitted SR’s will not be counted towards the challenge.
Ø
From the 1st
to the 15th of every month, your community
association members will be challenged to call 311 to report
as many of those specific service request types into 311 as
possible.
§
Request from any
neighborhood counts (teamwork). The issue does not
have to be in your own neighborhood or boundaries to be
counted, but you need to use your own groups ID
Number. Call in when riding to work, daycare,
gym, etc. This is our City.
§
The October challenges
end on October 15th. Feel free to call in after, but they
will not count towards the challenge period and incentives.
Ø
Always provide your
Community ID Number when calling 311. Please forward your ID
Number to all in your group.
When calling in a service
request for this Challenge, you will need to do the
following:
o
Say that you are calling
in for the 311 Community Challenge
o
Identify the type of
service you are requesting
o
Identify the location of
the problem (closest street address or intersection)
o
Provide any additional
information to the Customer Service Agent about this problem
o
Provide your Community
Group ID number
o
Provide your contact
information (optional)
To
Recognize Your Hard Work During the Challenge:

District winners will
receive a Mayoral Citation
·
Citywide winner will
receive a congratulatory letter and plaque from Mayor Dixon
·
All winners will be
showcased in the Dixon Report
