Dear Community Leader and Stakeholder,

Thank you for your participation in the Mayor’s 311 Community Challenge!!!  I hope you are ready for this month’s challenges.  Please see below.

The new challenges for the month of October (October 1st –October 15th) are listed below:

Please make an extra effort to improve your communities by focusing on-

·        Light poles

·        Schools

·        Bridges (concrete legs)

·        Gateways

(2) Abandoned Vehicles

Please, ONLY call 311 for abandoned vehicles that are located only on PUBLIC STREETS for the challenge. Due to operations, we will not accept abandoned vehicles on private lots, city owned lots and private yards for this initiative (311 Community Challenge). Outside this initiative 311 will definitely take them.

(4) Bags in Trees

This only applies to city street trees in the medians and in front or side of a property. We will NOT allow request for private property which is the property owners responsibility.

Please adhere to the guidelines below:

Ø      You can only call into 311 for this specific initiative. Web intake (311 Online) submitted SR’s will not be counted towards the challenge.

Ø      From the 1st to the 15th of every month, your community association members will be challenged to call 311 to report as many of those specific service request types into 311 as possible.

§         Request from any neighborhood counts (teamwork).  The issue does not have to be in your own neighborhood or boundaries to be counted, but you need to use your own groups ID Number. Call in when riding to work, daycare, gym, etc.  This is our City.

§         The October challenges end on October 15th. Feel free to call in after, but they will not count towards the challenge period and incentives.

Ø      Always provide your Community ID Number when calling 311. Please forward your ID Number to all in your group.

When calling in a service request for this Challenge, you will need to do the following:

o       Say that you are calling in for the 311 Community Challenge

o       Identify the type of service you are requesting

o       Identify the location of the problem (closest street address or intersection)

o       Provide any additional information to the Customer Service Agent about this problem
